The city has scheduled five public meetings seeking input on Oakland's public safety crisis to incorporate into a new crime suppression plan being formulated by a team of consultants.

The sessions, which began last month, include Mayor Jean Quan, City Administrator Deanna Santana, Chief Howard Jordan and members of the consultant team led by Robert Wasserman.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Council Chambers, Oakland City Hall, 1 Frank Ogawa Plaza.

The remaining meetings are scheduled 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at West Oakland Middle School, 991 14th Street; 6 to 9 p.m. March 20 at Castlemont High School, 8601 MacArthur Blvd.; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 23 at Beebe Memorial Cathedral, 3900 Telegraph Ave.; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 27 at Cesar Chavez Education Center, 2825 International Blvd.
