SANTA CRUZ - The UC Santa Cruz student who died after falling on campus last week died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the fall.
That's according to an autopsy performed by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's office.
Tyler Collins, 19, was found Feb. 27 at the bottom of a 75-foot ravine near a pedestrian bridge near the student health center. Passersby found Collins around 9 a.m. and called 911, university spokesman Jim Burns said.
Collins was airlifted to Valley Medical Center in Santa Clara County for treatment but was later pronounced dead.
Burns said university police are continuing to investigate how or why Collins fell and how long he was there. No foul play was involved, Burns said.
Collins, a sophomore from Mountain View, was majoring in computer science at UCSC.
