CASTRO VALLEY -- An elderly couple were rushed to the hospital with major injuries after the pair were struck by a vehicle early Friday, CHP said.
Officers responded to reports of an accident at 5:02 a.m. at Meekland Boulevard and Blossom Way, according to CHP. The pair were crossing the street, CHP said, but it was unclear if they were in the crosswalk at the time they were hit.
Both were transported to Eden Hospital with major injuries, the extent of which were unknown Friday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle was not arrested, and it does not appear that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
