HAYWARD-- A homicide investigation is underway in unincorporated Hayward where a man was shot to death in a camper early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Deputies responded just after midnight to reports of multiple gunshots in the area of Princeton Street and Sunset Boulevard, Alameda County Sheriff's Lt. Justin McComas said. While scanning the neighborhood deputies discovered a parked trailer in the backyard of a home, where a man in his late 20s was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

The unidentified victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead of his injuries.

Investigators are following leads provided by various witnesses, but have not yet identified any suspects, McComas said.

The shooting marks the second homicide of the year in unincorporated Alameda County, following the Feb. 13 murder of 19-year-old Trevion Foster in Ashland.
