The skinny: Brooklyn bands are about as prevalent as barbecue and beer at this festival. Yet, Caveman is certainly one of the more interesting new groups to hail from that hotbed of indie music. I caught the band during one of the many daytime parties that are part of the SXSW experience and -- despite an iffy sound system -- Caveman still managed to club me over the head with its dreamy, powerful brand of psychedelic synth-pop. Look for Caveman's self-titled sophomore album to hit stores April 2.
