PALO ALTO -- As Samsung works to expand its music services, its development subsidiary will move into office space along Palo Alto's Portage Avenue.

mSpot is focused on building the Music Hub service, which it calls the first all-in-one mobile music service that includes a streaming catalog, cloud music storage, radio and a music store now available on Samsung Galaxy devices.

"When we acquired mSpot, it was predominantly for the people and their expertise in mobile technology, music licensing and content," TJ Kang, senior vice president of Samsung Electronics' Media Solution Center said in a statement. "We're thrilled that the home of our world-class music service is in the heart of Silicon Valley, along with a highly talented, and innovative team."

Daren Tsui, CEO of mSpot, said in a statement that, "This expansion shows Samsung's commitment to our vision, creativity and independence, as we move toward the global offering of Samsung Music Hub."
