ANTIOCH -- A lockdown of Carmen Dragon Elementary School was released around noon Friday after police began searching for a suspect or suspects in a neighborhood just south of the school.

The lockdown was ordered around 11 a.m., and all students were safe and accounted for, according to Principal Scott Bergerhouse.

The search was concentrated in an area south of the school, a neighborhood of several square blocks bounded by Woodside Way, Willowbrook Way, Catanzaro Way and Vista Grande Drive.

Police could not immediately be reached for comment. It was unknown why the suspect or suspects were being sought.
