PINOLE -- Police are looking for a man they say attempted to kidnap a young girl while she was walking home from school Friday.

At 4:16 p.m., Pinole police received a call from the parents of a 12-year-old girl reporting an attempted kidnapping.

The girl told her parents she was walking home from school around 2:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Appian Way when she was approached by a man who was leaning against the trunk of a vehicle parked in a driveway.

The man asked the girl, "Hey, do you want a ride?" When the girl told him, "No," the man then grabbed her wrist, police said.

The girl pulled her arm away and ran home, and she did not suffer any injuries, police added.

The girl described the suspect as a white male adult, 19 to 20 years old, 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He had black slicked-down, short hair, with a brown goatee and a piercing in his right eyebrow.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, black jeans and black work-type boots. The victim described the vehicle as silver with four doors.
