SAN JOSE -- Earthquakes forward Mike Fucito probably won't play Saturday against the Seattle Sounders at Buck Shaw Stadium because of gash to a foot that he suffered a week ago, coach Frank Yallop said.

Rookie Adam Jahn of Stanford probably would get his second consecutive start if Fucito can't go. Fucito, who came to San Jose in an off-season trade with the Portland Timbers, missed last weekend's game at Columbus because of the injury.

The Quakes (1-1-1) also won't have center back Victor Bernardez and left back Justin Morrow, who were called to the Honduras and U.S. national teams for World Cup qualifying matches over the next week.

Yallop said Tuesday that he also blocked defender Nana Attakora's call up to the Canadian national team for upcoming exhibition matches against Japan and Belarus because he needs the center back for the Seattle game.
