Two police chases spilled onto two Vallejo schools Wednesday morning while classes were in session.
In the first incident, officers were summoned at about 10:20 a.m. to the 3900 block of Georgia Street to reports of shots fired, police said.
A witness heard two gunshots and heard an alarm sounding from inside the vacant house, police said.
When officers arrived, the suspects fled. One hopped a fence and started running through the yard of Pennycook Elementary School, police said.
The school was briefly placed on lockdown for several minutes as an officer chased the suspect down, eventually catching up to him in the school yard and arresting him, police said.
Most of the students were inside at the time, police said.
