ANTIOCH -- An unknown amount of cash was taken from a Wendy's restaurant Wednesday afternoon after a man entered the restaurant with a black handgun and nylon stocking over his face, police said.

No one was injured.

The robbery was reported around 3:40 p.m. at the restaurant located on the 1800 block of A Street, Antioch police said.

According to police, a man armed with a black handgun walked into the restaurant wearing a nylon over his face and a black hooded sweatshirt, then demanded money.

It is unknown how much cash the man made off with, and no further suspect description was readily available.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The armed robbery came hours after a 20-year-old man was shot and killed just blocks away at the intersection of William Reed Drive and West Madill Street.
