ORINDA -- A single-vehicle crash slowed traffic Monday afternoon along Highway 24 east after a truck drove off the roadway and hit a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.

No one was seriously injured, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said, and traffic was back to it normal pace as of about 2:30 p.m.

Officers responded at 1:20 p.m. to a report of a crash near the Caldecott Tunnel involving a truck pulling a trailer that witnesses said drove off the road and hit a tree.

The driver of the truck had minor injuries and complained of chest pain, Bartlett said.

As of 2:22 p.m., emergency crews remained on scene cleaning up debris from the wreck, according to the CHP.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known, Bartlett said.
