RICHMOND -- A Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office deputy escaped injury Tuesday night after his patrol car flipped over as he responded to a call, a spokesman said.
The unidentified deputy was responding to an emergency at about 11:50 p.m. when he entered the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and Richmond Parkway, Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
As the deputy entered the intersection, a truck also entered it. The deputy then maneuvered the car to avoid a collision, and it hit a center median and flipped, Lee said.
The car struck a center median and landed on its passenger side door. The deputy walked away from the wreck, Lee said. The driver of the truck also was OK, Lee said.
The wreck remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office, Lee said.
