San Francisco company PlanetSoho is helping first-time entrepreneurs sell their goods and services online, offering web tools and advice to get their businesses up and running.
Think of it as an Etsy 2.0. PlanetSoho, which sells online business management tools, recently launched Soho Storefront -- a web platform to help self-starters and businesses with five or fewer employees market and their sell merchandise online.
These virtual storefronts are a quick way for micro-companies to create an e-commerce site for hawking homemade jewelry, baked goods or personal chef services, and reaching new customers through social media and blogs. Businesses have access to free tools for invoicing, email, marketing, inventory management and legal issues.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Ron Daniel started PlanetSoho in 2010. For more on the Soho Storefront, go to www.planetsoho.com.
