MORGAN HILL -- Drug agents uncovered a large-scale commercial marijuana grow operating in secret in a Morgan Hill office park this week, resulting in the arrest of a town resident, police said.
Morgan Hill detectives joined agents from the Unified Narcotic Enforcement Team in serving a search warrant at a building at 16035 Caputo Dr., where they found three units totaling 6,000 square feet housing 2,775 marijuana plants and 30 pounds of the processed plant. Further investigation revealed an elaborate air filtration and irrigation system, and did not have any business or code permits.
Code enforcement officials said numerous alterations in the electrical system made the building unsafe. Police arrested 32-year-old Daniel Segal in connection with the grow, and served a search warrant at his home where they reportedly found marijuana and grow paraphernalia and equipment.
