Hundreds of Bay Area residents are expected to take part in an immigration reform "Day of Action" on Wednesday.
The rallies and other events are timed to coincide with a bigger rally in Washington, D.C.
Among the events planned, which begin Tuesday evening and continue throughout the day Wednesday, are:
4 p.m. Tuesday: San Jose Catholic Bishop Patrick McGrath holds a Mass and calls for immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship. Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2020 E. San Antonio St.
8 a.m. Wednesday prayer breakfast, a free event with faith leaders speaking in support of reform. Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2020 E. San Antonio St.
Noon: Youth rally and march for reform. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, 150 E. San Fernando St.
4:30 p.m.: Family vigil with immigrant families sharing their stories, prayers and calls for action. Sacred Heart Community Service, 1381 S. First St.
11:30 a.m.: Rally, Frank Ogawa Plaza.
3 p.m.: Rally for inclusive immigration reform starting at 1 Post St.
5 p.m.: March to old federal building, 450 Golden Gate Ave.
6 p.m.: Rally and vigil on the University Avenue pedestrian bridge over I-80.
