OAKLAND -- A man was shot and killed late Tuesday afternoon at a home where marijuana was being grown, police said.

Police responded to the 1600 block of 85th Avenue at 5:53 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

Once officers arrived, they found one man suffering from gunshot wounds outside the home. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

It is unclear why the man was at the home or what led to the shooting, and police late Tuesday did not have any suspects.

This is Oakland's 26th homicide of the year.
