PLEASANT HILL -- A car crashed into an office store early Monday morning, and the person driving it appears to have fled with some of its property, police said.
The mayhem occurred at 5:42 a.m. at a Staples store at 2120 Contra Costa Blvd., when officers responded to a store alarm and found an unoccupied green 1997 Honda Accord crashed through the front door of the store, Master Corp. Steven Dexheimer of Pleasant Hill police said.
The car was reported stolen from Berkeley on Sunday, police said.
A search of the store showed that some property was taken, but police did not release specific details about what was stolen and were determining the value of the store's loss, Dexheimer said.
A security camera was rolling when the theft occurred, and police are reviewing some of it, Dexheimer said. Police also interviewed witnesses who were working in nearby businesses when the robbery happened, Dexheimer said.
