Piedmont pitchers shut out Tennyson

  • Piedmont High pitchers Garrett Hodos and Kieran Baack combined for a two-hitter as the Highlanders baseball team shut out Tennyson 11-0 in a West Alameda County Conference-Shoreline game on April 12. At the plate, Piedmont received a home run from Spencer Gutterman, a triple from Evans Hauser and a double from Jackson Roberts.

    Hornets' offense thrives in softball win

  • The Alameda High softball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit with four runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the sixth to beat Bishop O'Dowd 8-5 in a West Alameda County Conference-Foothill win on April 12. Shannon Regan went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI and teammates Maddy Lewis and Alanna Reyes both had two hits and two RBI in the victory. For Bishop O'Dowd, Alexis Carney slammed a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning and teammates Alexandra Lee and Alexis Scalzo both had two hits and an RBI.

    El Cerrito's O'Neal wins at Laguna Seca

  • Tyler O'Neal won the sophomore boys race for the El Cerrito High Mountain Biking team in a competition at Laguna Seca on April 7. Sean Bennett added a fourth-place finish in the varsity boys race for El Cerrito.

  • Bishop O'Dowd at Encinal, baseball, April 19, 4 p.m. -- The Dragons led the WACC-Foothill Division by one-half game entering this week, with Encinal only two games behind in a tight division race.

  • Channing Nesbit, Bishop O'Dowd baseball -- Nesbit was 2 for 2 with two runs scored and two walks, and also earned the pitching win while striking out seven batters in an 8-5 victory over Alameda on April 12.

  • Ryan Wi, Skyline baseball -- Wi hit a double, scored three runs and drove in two in a 12-2 victory over Castlemont on April 8. He also was 2 for 2, including a double, with three runs scored and an RBI in a 19-0 win over Fremont on April 10, and slammed a home run, scored three runs and drove in three in a 17-2 win over McClymonds on April 12.

  • Noah Bremer, Berkeley baseball -- Bremer fired a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and also went 2 for 3 with two runs scored in the Yellowjackets' 3-0 victory over Encinal on April 12.

  • Ryan Delaney, El Cerrito baseball -- Delaney pitched five innings of no-hit, shutout ball, and also was 1 for 2 with a run scored, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base in the Gauchos' 6-5 win over Pinole Valley on April 10. He was also 1 for 3 with three RBI in an 8-1 victory over Albany on April 12.

  • Kevin Flemer, St. Mary's baseball -- Flemer thew a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and no walks as the Panthers defeated St. Patrick-St. Vincent 1-0 on April 10.

  • Angel Munoz, St. Joseph Notre Dame baseball -- Munoz went 2 for 4 at the plate, including a double, with two runs scored and three RBI in the Pilots' 12-2 victory over Richmond in a Tri-County Athletic League game on April 12.

  • Shannon Regan, Alameda softball -- Regan went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI in the Hornets' 8-5 victory over Bishop O'Dowd on April 12.
