In the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings on Monday, the San Francisco Giants announced Thursday they will increase security at AT&T Park, beginning with Friday night's game against the San Diego Padres that opens a six-game homestand.

Mirroring precautions set up at AT&T Park for the World Baseball Classic and postseason games, mandatory bag checks and wanding will be utilized at all gates.

Gates open two hours before first pitch at AT&T and, due to the extra security measures, the Giants are encouraging fans to arrive early.
