The Brentwood Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect in the attached surveillance photo. BRENTWOOD -- A US Bank branch was robbed Thursday afternoon and police are asking the public's help to find the armed man who got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Around 2:10 p.m., Brentwood police officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the US Bank located inside the Safeway store at 1125 Second St. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a 30 to 35 year old Caucasian or Hispanic male, roughly 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 180 pounds. He was armed with a handgun and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot, police said in a news release.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark ball cap covered with a white knit cap, wearing dark sunglasses, a white long sleeve shirt and dark pants.

Independence High School and Liberty High School were placed on temporary lockdown for approximately 15 minutes for safety reasons while police searched for the suspect.

The Brentwood Police Department is asking for help in identifying the suspect shown in a photo released to the public. Anyone with information related to the robbery should contact Detective Folena at 925-809-7743.
