OAKLAND -- A man who suffered fatal gunshot wounds Saturday afternoon after getting into a fist fight with some other people outside an East Oakland liquor store was identified by police Monday as Marcus L. Evans, 22.

Evans, who lived in another part of East Oakland, was shot about 4 p.m. Saturday outside a liquor store in the 9000 block of MacArthur Boulevard. He died at a hospital about 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police said Evans got into a physical fight with at least two other men before one of them shot him.

Officer Phong Tran said police don't know what prompted the fight. No arrests have been made.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering as much as $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information may call investigators at 510-238-3821 or a tip line at 510-773-2805.
