HAYWARD -- A man with tattoos on his right and left wrists that spell out the words "East Bay" has been named as a suspect in the death of a Hayward man found shot in the driveway of a residential neighborhood Saturday, police said.

Ezekiel Taylor, 26, of Hayward, died at 9:33 a.m. Sunday at Eden Medical Center after police found him about 12 hours earlier in the driveway of a home on Franklin Avenue between Culp Avenue and Harder Road, Hayward police Sgt. Eric Krimm said.

Police on Monday announced they have put out an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Michael L. Soutar, who they say frequents Hayward, San Leandro and Oakland.

Soutar is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 175 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes, police said. He also has a tattoo on his right wrist that says "East" and a tattoo on his left wrist that says "Bay," police said.

The gun used in the shooting has not been recovered, and police said Soutar should be considered armed and dangerous. Police were called to the scene Saturday on reports that a single gunshot was fired, but did not say Monday how many times Taylor was shot.

Although Taylor lived in Hayward, police said he did not live in the neighborhood where he was found.

Krimm said Taylor was married but did not know his occupation.

Police are urging anyone who sees Soutar or who has information on the case to call 911 or the Hayward Police Department at 510-293-7000.

Taylor's death marked the second homicide in Hayward this year. Darren Hampton, 26, of Oakland, died Jan. 25, eight days after he was shot at Lord Tennyson Apartments, in the 27000 block of Sleepy Hollow Avenue.
