MARIN COUNTY -- A Mill Valley woman was injured Monday after driving off her deck, down a set of stairs and into a tree.

The incident was reported shortly after 1 p.m. on Bristol Place in Tamalpais Valley. The woman was coming home and apparently failed to negotiate a sharp turn into her parking deck, said Southern Marin fire Chief Jim Irving.

"She didn't quite make the left as hard as she should have," he said.

The woman, suspended in the car and unable to get out, started honking her horn until it caught the attention of a neighbor.

The woman was taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
