The Rock -- Dwayne Johnson -- missed Monday night's Los Angeles premiere of his new movie "Pain & Gain," to undergo emergency hernia surgery, according to E! News.
While the surgery didn't come as a surprise, the timing did. Johnson tweeted Sunday that he would have the surgery later in the week.
"Saw my Dr who had to push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic," the pro wrestler turned movie star tweeted. "Surgery is next week. #BringItOn."
I guess it got brought on sooner than he thought.
E! reported that Johnson was resting at his home Tuesday morning. There was no word on whether the injury had anything to do with Johnson's return to the ring earlier this month, when he lost a match to John Cena at Wrestlemania 29.
"Pain & Gain" will be in theaters Friday.
