BOSTON -- Just looking at Boston and Fenway Park late Tuesday afternoon, it's hard to see baseball being played here Tuesday evening.
But the A's and the Red Sox are getting ready to do just that. They've been told that, at least for the moment, to prepare for a 6:35 start (3:35 PDT) with a forecast of light rain.
The clubs were not able to take batting practice, not with a huge tarp covering the infield and the shallower part of the outfield, but they probably will want to take infield before the game gets going.
By the time of the first pitch, the infield is likely to be soggy, and it's hard to see this one being played without one or two delays if the rain intensifies.
The weather report calls for heavier rain later in the evening.
