ANTIOCH -- A man was hospitalized after being stabbed Tuesday night outside a popular Internet sweepstakes cafe on its final night of operation, police said.

Police are investigating the stabbing, which occurred at 10:51 p.m. outside Cot on the Web, at 2333 Buchanan Road, Antioch police Sgt. Tony Morefield said.

The man was taken to a hospital but was not cooperating with police, and police have no suspects, Morefield said. The man's injuries were not life threatening, he said.

Owner Patricia Simmons said she was inside the cafe, when she heard a commotion outside.

"I ran out of (the cafe) and saw a scuffle and called 911," she said. "I was devastated."

The attack happened less than 10 minutes before Cot on the Web closed its doors for the last time. The city three weeks ago denied the cafe a renewal of its business license, citing public safety concerns.

"It was a great turnout," Simmons said in a text. "Lots of tears. People feel lost. They don't know what to do now or where to go that they won't be judged. ... They just have a feeling of loss."
