HAYWARD -- City staff members will give an update on the downtown loop and the rest of Route 238 road project Thursday morning.
The one-way traffic loop began March 15, but work still remains to be done downtown, with final paving and striping expected to begin in mid-May.
Work is still being done on Mission Boulevard just south of the Jackson Street-Foothill Boulevard intersection, and medians are being constructed on Foothill. The entire project is scheduled to be finished in June.
The Route 238 Corridor Improvement Project is designed to ease traffic congestion downtown and help commuters and local residents move more quickly through town.
Thursday's meeting begins at 9 a.m. in Conference Room 2A at Hayward City Hall, 777 B St.
