FREMONT -- An elderly Fremont man with dementia who was missing Thursday was found Friday morning at a South Bay hospital, a Fremont police investigator said.
David Mock, 88, was found around 8 a.m. at an undisclosed hospital in the San Jose area, said Fremont police investigator Julie Terry. Police said it appears Mock fell down while he was away from his caregivers and was transported to a hospital. He was not seriously injured, police said.
Mock, who has trouble hearing in addition to dementia, was last seen around 7:30 a.m. Thursday near Margery Drive and Fremont Boulevard. His family has been notified that he is safe.
On Friday morning, San Jose police notified Fremont authorities that a nurse recognized the man from news reports about his disappearance.
