SAN LEANDRO -- A missing man was found safe Wednesday morning, about 24 hours after he was last seen.
John Williams, 60, was found at 10:50 a.m. back at the care home he had wandered away from and was "OK," according to police.
Police said they did not know where he went before he returned.
Williams was last seen at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday walking from the home in the 300 block of Juana Avenue, according to San Leandro police Lt. Randy Brandt. He was headed to Oakland to cash a check, Brandt said.
Williams was reported missing to police after he failed to return to the home in time to take his daily medications for his undisclosed medical conditions.
Brandt said this was not the first time Williams did not return to his care home.
He was reported missing last week and later found by a police officer in the 2200 block of Bancroft Avenue in San Leandro.
