SAN RAMON -- One home was completely destroyed and another damaged as crews worked to control a two-alarm house fire Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before 5 p.m., firefighters were called to 900 block of Lexington Place where arriving crews immediately called for backup.

Dozens of neighbors gathered near the corner of the street as police sectioned off the area to take photos and watch as the flames continued to burn the cars, roof and rooms of the single-story home.

No one was injured in the blaze, but an hour later firefighters were still working to put out flames erupting from the center of the house.

Information on what caused the fire was not immediately available.
