The 49ers will receive a 2014 second-round draft pick as compensation for trading quarterback Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs as long as the Chiefs win at least eight games.

According to SI.com, the draft pick is a third-rounder if the Chiefs fail to win at least half their regular-season games next season. The 49ers traded Smith to the Chiefs in March.

As it stands, the 49ers are flush with picks in the 2014 draft, thanks to the Smith trade, a trade with the Tennessee Titans and the likelihood of receiving a third- or fourth-round compensatory pick for a net loss of free agents.
