SAN RAMON -- No one was injured in a late-morning blaze that destroyed a garage and caused significant damage to a home on a cul-de-sac near Alcosta Boulevard, a fire spokeswoman said.

The one-alarm blaze broke out at 21 Portsmouth Court around 11:45 a.m., San Ramon Valley Fire spokeswoman Kim French said. The original address given by dispatchers, 25 Portsmouth Court, proved to be incorrect, French said.

The garage attached to the two-story home was fully ablaze by the time fire crews arrived, she said. It appears an unknown number of residents were home when the fire started, but all left the home on their own and were uninjured, she said.

A damage estimate was not immediately available, she said. Investigators were still trying to determine the origin of the blaze, and its cause.
