FREMONT -- A 52-year-old Cupertino man died Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle wreck on the Sunol Grade on Interstate 680, authorities said.
The man was identified by a spokesman with the Alameda County Coroner's office as Guy Li, 52, whose legal name is Ying Hao Li. .
The fatal crash occurred at 4:26 a.m. on southbound I-680 just north of Vargas Road, said CHP Officer Scott Cakebread.
No one else was injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, he said.
Traffic was backed up for more than five miles on I-680 after the CHP closed four lanes on the freeway, Cakebread said. Three of the lanes were opened at 6:25 a.m., and the final lane opened at 6:44 a.m.
