FREMONT — AC Transit will hold two public meetings this month to discuss a proposal for changing bus service on 20 routes in Fremont, Newark and Union City.

Service would be increased on some routes, and reduced or eliminated on some lightly used routes.

AC Transit also wants comments from the public around recent bus service changes in downtown Hayward in response to conversion of parts of Mission and Foothill boulevards to one-way traffic.

A public meeting to explain the proposed changes will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 12 at the California School for the Blind, 500 Walnut Avenue, Fremont.

The AC Transit board will hold a public hearing on the proposal 5 p.m. May 22 at Fremont City Hall, building A, 3300 Capitol Ave.
