DISCOVERY BAY -- A beer truck that ended up down an embankment has snarled traffic on eastbound Highway 4 this afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reports.

The two eastbound lanes were closed just west of the Discovery Bay Bridge following the 4 p.m. incident, but were reopened at about 4:45 p.m., according to Officer Kevin Bartlett. The lanes will close once again when a tow truck arrives to pull the truck out of the embankment, Bartlett said. Motorists should expect delays.

There were no reported injuries.
