OAKLAND -- One man was killed and another wounded Sunday morning in East Oakland when a gunman opened fire on the car they were in, police said.
Neither man's name has been released by police. The shooting happened at 4:36 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of 92nd Avenue near International Boulevard.
The men were sitting in a car when someone from outside the vehicle began shooting at them. The 27-year-old Oakland man believed to be in the driver's seat was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, a 25-year-old San Francisco man, was able to get transportaton to a hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
Police have not released a motive and no arrests have been made.
The killing was Oakland's 38th homicide of the year. There were 46 homicides at this time in 2012. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $15,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the gunman.
