ANTIOCH -- An Antioch man found dead in front of a large apartment complex last week was identified Monday.

Authorities said Nyjeah Jenkins, 22, was the man found near a fence on the edge of the property at the Hudson Townhouse Manor apartments just before 8 a.m. Friday. Police have not said what they believed caused his death.

Police are treating Jenkins' death as the fourth homicide of the year in the city of Antioch and arrested a man in connection with killing later Friday. The suspect's name, age and city or residence were not released. He was booked into County Jail in Martinez on suspicion of murder, police said.

The arrest came after police said they were tipped off by a resident concerned about a suspicious person in the neighborhood.

The body was discovered near trash bins alongside a wrought-iron fence and a long driveway separating Hudson Townhouse Manor from a five-unit apartment building across the street on Fairfield Drive, police said.

Anyone with information regarding this case should call detectives at the Antioch Police Department at 925-779-6895.
