CASTRO VALLEY -- A vigil to mark the 19th anniversary of the death of teenager Jenny Lin is planned for Friday.
The public service will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Castro Valley Library. A candlelight walk in downtown Castro Valley will take place afterward.
No arrests have been made in the death of Jenny, 14, who was killed in her home on May 17, 1994.
The Jenny Lin Foundation sponsored a contest to raise awareness for child safety, and about 50 students from 11 schools took part. Contest winners will be announced at the service, and the winning projects will be displayed at the library, 3600 Norbridge Ave.
A $100,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the conviction of Jenny's killer. Anyone with information can call the Alameda County sheriff's department at 510-667-7721 or a toll-free hot line, 855-4-JENNY-LIN.
