SAN FRANCISCO -- No evidence surfaced Wednesday that an Emeryville man who vanished after running the Bay to Breakers race on Sunday is alive, a family member said.
The family of 27-year-old Beau Rasmussen has contacted expert rescue teams and is a planning a large search some time this weekend, said Kris Rasmussen, the missing man's uncle.
Rasmussen has not been seen or heard from since noon Sunday, when he left his friends after the race and headed to Ocean Beach. His belongings, including his clothing, were later found on the beach, indicating he went swimming in the ocean.
A group of 30 friends, family and co-workers searched about 22 miles of coastline on Tuesday, but found nothing.
Rasmussen is white, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 195 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing jeans and an old maroon football jersey with "Chris" and the number 28 on the back.
The family has asked anyone with video of the beach after the race or any other information to email firstname.lastname@example.org, call 925-961-7397 or contact Emeryville police at 510-596-3700.
