WALNUT CREEK -- Police are searching for a man who robbed a U.S. Bank in broad daylight Friday.

Around 12:02 p.m., the man walked into the bank located at 2890 North Main Street, according to the Walnut Creek Police Department.

The suspect was described as a black male adult, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build and short dark hair, police said. He was last seen wearing a colorful plaid shirt, dark pants and sunglasses.

He fled in an unknown direction with an unknown amount of cash, and no weapon was seen, police added.

No one was injured.
