DANVILLE -- A drunken driver hit a power pole on Camino Tassajara early Saturday, knocking out power to about 4,000 PG&E customers, police said.

The name of the 22-year-old Danville woman arrested on suspicion of drunken driving was not immediately available, said Danville police Sgt. Jason Haynes.

She was alone in the car and her injuries were minor, Haynes said. No one else was injured.

Utility crews are still on the scene making repairs and all but 42 customers have had their power restored.

Police said at 6 a.m. Saturday the motorist, driving east on Camino Tassajara, veered off the road near Liverpool Street and hit the pole with her car.

Eastbound traffic on Camino Tassajara is down to one lane between Old Blackhawk Road and Crow Canyon Road, and traffic signals at the four-way intersection of Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon Road are out. Police said motorists should be especially cautious in the area.
