DUBLIN -- Police are looking for the driver of a red Toyota pickup truck that hit a California Highway Patrol vehicle while officers were providing traffic control early Saturday.
According to the CHP, at 12:47 a.m., a collision on westbound Interstate 580 just east of Airway Boulevard required CHP officers to shut down the No. 1 and 2 lanes. While one officer was lighting flares, another was shadowing him in the number 3 lane with his or her car when the pickup truck struck the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
Though CHP attempted to track down the driver, they were unable to find the pickup truck.
The CHP officer that was hit was taken to Valley Care Medical Center in Castro Valley for complaint of pain.
