SAN JOSE — The Sharks expect to have Adam Burish back in the lineup Sunday night as they hope to force a seventh game in their Stanley Cup playoff series with the Los Angeles Kings.
Burish has not played in the series after injuring his hand blocking a shot in the final game of San Jose's sweep of Vancouver. He was expected to miss the entire Los Angeles series, but his rehab has him ready to go sooner than originally expected.
"The plan is I'm going to play," Burish said in a Sunday morning scrum with reporters. "Unless something changes, unless I eat some bad chicken, I'll be good to go."
Burish is expected to center San Jose's fourth line with Andrew Desjardins and Bracken Kearns.
The Sharks signed Burish as a free agent last summer for his grit and playoff experience, having won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010. But Coach Todd McLellan pointed out that his biggest impact in Game 6 may come as a penalty killer.
