WALNUT CREEK -- A man died after a car crash on Trinity Avenue on Friday, police said Sunday.

The man was driving a Toyota Prius east on Trinity Avenue at North California Boulevard at 4:27 p.m. when he was broadsided by a Dodge Durango traveling north, police said.

The man was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he later died as a result of his injuries. His name was not immediately available.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been a factor in the crash, police said.
