ANTIOCH -- Crews contained a 15-acre vegetation fire that rapidly spread near Cambridge and Silverado drives Wednesday afternoon, a fire dispatcher said.

Firefighters responded around 4:15 p.m. to reports of a 1-acre fire, but the fire quickly grew and threatened homes, according to a dispatcher with the Contra Costa Fire Protection District.

No residences were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

The fire was contained around 4:46 p.m.

It is unclear what started the fire.
