ORINDA -- A one-alarm vegetation fire that started just before noon Friday was contained to two acres, a fire official said.

The fire, which began around 11:43 a.m. near 60 Sandhill Road, never threatened any homes or businesses, and was under control in 23 minutes, said Stephen Healy, Division Chief for the Moraga Orinda Fire District.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation. Fifty fire personnel from the MOFD and other agencies helped with the containment, Healy said.
