CONCORD -- One person has been detained and three are still at large after officers gave chase to a group of juveniles who may have been preparing to burglarize a neighborhood home Friday afternoon, police said.

At 3:30 p.m., a resident on Park Highlands Boulevard near Belhan Drive noticed four teens looking at homes and acting suspiciously, according to Lt. Robert Zywicki of the Concord Police Department.

When police arrived, they spotted two of the four described suspects, who took off running. Police chased after them, and were able to detain one, a male suspect from Oakland, as he attempted to jump over a fence, Zywicki said.

The other three remain at large.

It is unknown if the detained suspect will face any charges. Police did not immediately identify him

The home the four were looking into did not have any signs of forced entry and did not appear to have any damage to it, Zywicki added.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
