CONCORD -- Firefighters rescued a woman who crawled into a storm drain on Sunday and refused to come out, according to a Contra Costa Fire District dispatcher.

The woman, whose name was not released, opened the grate of a storm drain in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Concord Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. and climbed down, according to fire dispatch. It took 14 firefighters about one hour to pull her to safety.

The woman was taken to a hospital with no apparent injuries, according to dispatch. The storm drain is about 15 feet deep and three feet wide.
