WALNUT CREEK -- A person found beaten and unconscious after an apparent assault is expected to survive their injuries, but the two men responsible remain on the loose, police said Monday.
Officers were called to the 2700 block of Oak Road around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday night and found the person unconscious with facial injuries, according to Walnut Creek police Sgt. Tracie Reese. The person, whose age and gender were not released by police, was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The injuries were not considered life-threatening, Reese said.
Police said the victim was beaten with a weapon but did not say what kind of weapon was used. They also refused to say if the person was found in a residence or in the street.
Police did not release a full description of the suspects but said the men were between 30 and 35 years old.
The attack does not appear to be random, Reese said.
Witnesses to the attack are asked to contact Det. Gerstner in the Walnut Creek Police Department at 925-943-5875.
